Spotted

Hello, hello sorry it's been a late blogging week. I've been swamped but am happy to report that I've hired two part time assistants! Hopefully with the much needed help, I'll have a bit more time to get creative with the design blogging!! I hope to have some fresh and updated posts to share with you all this Fall!!

Okay, onto the post. I'm still spying spots everywhere! Which for me is a good thing, they add just the right amount of energy and a bit of hip factor to a home or outfit. Be it antelope, polka dots or leopard, it doesn't really matter to me, I adore them all. Happy Wednesday!

High street fashion: Urban Culture hits the capital

The store provides customers with options to browse through a variety of clothes and accessories. PHOTOS: MUHAMMAD JAVAID
ISLAMABAD:  After taking Lahore by surprise, Urban Culture is all set to take over the Islamabad market. Situated in the populace Super Market, the new trendy store apparel brings in a mix of preppy and style.
While the brand focuses on polo shirts and plaid prints, the women’s collection also features embellished chiffon shift shirts. The store directly competes with Crossroads and Outfitters.
“Urban Culture is hip, loud and preppy. [It has] specially designed fits with eclectic detailing,” said the young designer Hammad Sheikh. “Our outfits are prepared for every possible urban environment and speak of universality of craftsmanship and design.”
The company’s Managing Director, Saad Aziz, said they strive to provide “international high quality merchandise” at affordable prices to the local market. The autumn/winter collection will feature trench coats, jackets, accessories and jewellery. The brand is employing four types of fabric in their collection:  knit, woven, denim and non-denim.
The collection, overall, has a different feel to what we have seen in the market. While Stoneage dominates the market for denim wear, Urban Culture vouches for the same level of quality in its cotton and linen merchandise. Plaid has been a major player in world fashion for the past two years, with the whole cowboy look making an impact.
Urban Culture has taken on this trend and mass produced it for clients that cannot afford to pay exorbitant amounts for apparel or travel abroad frequently.
Not only the women’s wear, but the menswear collection too has some very interesting themes. The graphic t-shirts follow the car series, party-oriented prints, music series and has a laidback summer collection of beach graphic prints.
Since its launch in Lahore in May this year, the label has opened three stores and is due to open at least another three in the next two months.
Sheikh added, “Urban Culture is about a philosophy and quality, which would be at home in any global urban centre, be it London, Paris, New York, Tokyo or Lahore.”

Color Story: Fuchsia

A little goes a long way. It's predicted as a hot color for the upcoming (fingers crossed, not too soon) cool weather. Mix it with yellow, camel, charcoal, cream, coral, or navy..you get the picture. Fuchsia works with an array of shades!

A typical day

See my guest post at Eclectic interior designGroup. I share outfits from a typical day in my life! Sidney is sharing a slew of amazing designer's tips and unique styles.

If I'm having a Jackie O moment, I'll go for color, skirts and chunky necklaces. I love this look too.

I think I need

THIS!
honestly, I'd wear it with white jeans or shorts all summer long! I'm into investing in a few amazing pieces a season, instead of spending the same amount of money on a bunch of "so-so things"!

Emerson Made looks so fabulous lately.

Give Away - Chic Rockport boot!

A creative director from Rockport Shoe was kind enough to share a Fall Preview boot for a give away on Shelter! The Janae Bootie is chic and stylish, but also very comfortable.  The Janae collection features adiPRENE by Adidas. AdiPRENE by Adidas is a rubber like material that acts as a shock absorber and cushions your foot.  It's the key to the comfort in this line. The Janae boot featured today is a pre-release preview that will hit stores in July/August. I have a pair so I can attest they look and feel amazing. The short bootie is still "hot" for the Fall and works with both skinny and wide legged jeans and pants! The boot retails for $170.00 and will also be available in brown and grey suede.

I will choose the winner for this adorable boot this Monday at 5:00 pm! I'll announce the winner on my blog but I'll also contact you, so be sure to leave your email address if your comment doesn't link to your email! Rockport will ship the boot in your size to your home! We are giving away one pair of the black color way.

Here's how to enter: Leave a comment and tell me what you love about the boot!! Good Luck.

Suri's Style Sense

Suri Cruise is probably THE most photographed little girl in the world. Not only because she is the child of two A-list actors but also because of her fashionable style - at such a young age. Photographers have a field day snapping away when Suri is in sight.

Katie Holmes was on Regis & Kelly Tuesday promoting her latest films and naturally little Suri was brought up. Katie said that Suri not only picks out her own outfits but that she chooses what her mommy wears as well...all the way down to pairing shoes with the outfits. Katie said if she tries to step out in something different, Suri notices and basically asks her to go change - and she does. Talk about a parent-child role reversal!

Suri indeed adorns herself in some adorable [pricey] little outfits. Some have been questionable in the media outlets as to whether or not some of the outfits are age appropriate...and then there was the whole 'high heel' debacle. Let's have a look at some of Suri's looks....

In the below photo to the right, it looks like Suri is heading out of a business meeting!

I think the photo below is so cute!...
Heels and Starbucks!....

What do you think of Suri's wardrobe? Cute and totally age-appropriate, or a bit much and over the top?
