How many of you watched this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County? Season 5 came to an end last week and I couldn't wait for Bravo to air the 2 part reunion show {which might as well be renamed "confrontation time"!}. Did you see it? Having the husbands partake in part 2 of the reunion show was a great idea {would have loved it if Simon would have been present, for various reasons, wouldn't you?}.
But I gotta say. I miss the old Real Housewives of Orange County. The ladies of
Season 1. Remember who they were?....
SEASON 1
The original cast!
They were a great group of women. They weren't extremely caddy. They didn't talk behind each others backs excessively. They didn't intentionally go out of their way to exclude someone from the group, nor did any of them walk around with an heir of superiority about them. They were opinionated, but open minded. They may not have all shared the same viewpoints about things, but they were respectful of eachother. They didn't try to outshine one another; they celebrated each others accomplishments and genuinely wanted the best for the other. They didn't seek out, or create, drama among themselves. They weren't jealous of one another, and if they were, it didn't show. Their interviews, and online blogs, always revolved around things happening in their individual lives; they weren't focused on speaking negatively of one another or pointing out the faults of one of their castmates. My how things have changed since Season 1!
SEASON 2
Kimberly doesn't return {her family moves to Chicago}. In comes Tammy Knickerbocker...
Jo doesn't return. In comes Tamra Barney {and this is where I think the show takes a turn}....
About midway through Season 3, Quinn joins the show {I hardly noticed she was even there, what about you?}. Season 4
Quinn doesn't return. In comes Gretchen {and out comes a lot of sets of female claws!!}....
Season 5
Jeana throws in the towel and says "good riddens" to the show. In comes Alexis...
Sorry. Let me translate that: These women, and their significant others, exhausted me! No doubt - it made for GREAT tv. GREAT TV!!! But whoah. There was a lot goin' on. Can you imagine how much had to be edited, and didn't make it onto the show? There is probably enough unseen footage for BRAVO to make a 6th season out of it! There were sooo many different {dysfunctional} storylines overlapping one another. Which brings me to wonder....
What's to come in Season 6?
Who will leave the show, and who will remain? Guess we will have to "watch what happens"!
Sidenote: I think BRAVO should take all the men from this past season and do "The Real Husbands of Orange County" because these gents are a piece of work {not so much Donn - he's an A+!}.
Personally, OC is my favorite of all the housewives shows {followed by NYC - so far, I am loving this season! How about you?!}. What city of Housewives is your favorite? Do you have a favorite housewife?
