Ilah, 10 Months Old

I am SO behind in getting Ilah's 10 month post up {she is going to be 11 months old on December 12th!} - but as they say, better late than never!

So, Ilah....our sweet, sweet girl....what have you been up to at 10 months?

• You still wear size 4 diapers.


• You still take 2 naps during the day; one at 10:00 a.m and the other at 2 pm. Usually your nap times last about an hour and a half. You still remain a GREAT sleeper at night {you go down for the night between 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and you wake up in the morning around 8:00 a.m.}. I am SO thankful for that!


• You wear clothes that are 12 - 18 months in size.

• You now have 8 teeth!! Up until those last two teeth came through, you never fussed while teething. But those last two caused you some pain and you let us know! It seems to have passed now since those teeth are now all the way through!


• Just as we can't get enough of you, you can't get enough of us either! When we say “kiss kiss” you licks our lips. You also reach out to whoever you have a preference for at that moment. You are now also running into our legs to give us a "leg hug". It's so sweet!


• Now that I've talked about how sweet you are, I must also tell you that you have started to throw little fits. Sometimes I feel like I have a two year old on my hands! You are definitely insistant on getting your way - all the time.

• You get into EVERYTHING now.


• You have discovered toilet paper and try to go into the bathroom every chance you get to pull at the roll of toilet paper!


• Now when you are in a shopping cart, you reach out for everything!

• When we say “no” you shake your head “no” from side to side. It’s so cute and funny – you are a very smart girl!


• You love playing in mommy and daddy’s bed! You jump up and down and play peek-a-boo {one of your favorite little games} under the sheets.


• You love the real remote control, the cell phone...and now, the calculator! You have toys for all of these things, but of course, you know the real thing and you want the real thing!

• You point at a lot of things now and when you do, we tell you what it is that you are pointing at to give you word association. Sometimes you just point into the air because you just love to use that pointer finger!


• You mimick/immitate a lot of the things that what we do and say. We just crack up when you do that!

• You talk in conversational gibberish. You go on and on and on...and on. You definitely hold your own!


• This month, you started to say Mama!!


• You are a curious girl and you want to do everything yourself.


• You clap your hands everytime we say "clap" or "yaaay"!

• You dance every time you hear music!


• You are always at mommys feet during the day. You waddle around following me everywhere.

• You make the funniest faces!


• When you are in a new environment, you always look around and take everything in.


• You get squirmy now when we hold you. When you want down, you push yourself away from us.

• You get SO excited when you eat!


• This month was Thanksgiving. You ate turkey and sweet potatoes and loved it!
  
  
• You are such a happy, fun baby! You are always smiling and laughing. I just love that sound!

• When daddy leaves for work, you wave good-bye to him! It’s so hard for daddy to leave his girl.

• When daddy comes home from work, you are SO excited to see him - and he is SO excited to see you!! You run right up to him and he scoops you up in his arms to cover you with kisses and give you tight hugs!

• You still love bath time and splash, splash, splash away! Literally. Mommy and/or Daddy is drenched by the time bath time is over!

• You love when we read to you…you enjoy looking at the books and flipping through the pages.

• You love it when Daddy propels you through the air!

• Mommy plays “the pacifier” game with you…I take it out of your mouth with my teeth and you just LOVE it when I do that. You have quite a strong hand and when you manage to get it out of my mouth, you return the pacifier back to my mouth so we can play it again.
  

• You started walking at 9 months and 1 week, and have been on the go ever since! You now hold our hand when walking through the house. It's so cute!!

• Speaking of walking around the house....you sometimes will just walk round and around the kitchen island, or round and around the walls. I'm surprised you never get dizzy! You are so funny!

• You are picking up speed girl - daddy says you are now turning your walk into a "jog". Ha! You're not "jogging" but sometimes you do dart towards something pretty fast and it seems like you're running!!

• Your new favorite thing to do is stand on your head!

• Aside from Dora, you now love watching the Mickey Mouse Club!

• Have I mentioned how funny you are?!?!

• You love taking "walks" with your pink little puppy, Ruffea.

• Look at all that hair!!!.....

• Your smiles just melt our heart!!

• You squat all the time when playing with your toys.

• You try to eat everything/anything off the floor! Why?! You find the littliest speck!!

• You are starting to kick things around – your daddy did it was a plastic bowl that you were playing with one day, pretending that it was a soccer ball. And since you are starting to copy some things that we do, you now are starting to kick around some of your toys. I think we just need to get you a ball!

• You love when we play with you, but you are also very independent and can keep yourself occupied.
  
  

Ilah, you are an amazing, bright, funny, special, blessed little girl who continues to add so much joy to our lives. We truly can't get enough of you!! We are so honored to have been chosen to be your parents and we are so thankful to God for giving us the best gift we have ever been given - YOU.
