This week we are heading upstairs for a look into our Master Bedroom!

Our bedroom furniture came from Haverty's. We bought it a few months after we got married. It took us a while to decide on a bedroom set; we knew we would have it for years and years to come so we didn't want to rush into buying just anything.
The throw at the end of our bed came from Marshalls. I just love being wrapped up in a cozy throw in the winter. I bought this particular one to add a punch of color to the room, while still keeping the warm feel.
This is my husband's side of the bed:
The drawer that you see with the two tiny knobs can actually pull out. We just loved this feature on the nightstands! You don't have to worry about any cups leaving a ring on your nice furniture!
And this is my side of the bed. My night stand holds a framed wedding photo of us, a small box that I hold my engagement ring, and wedding band, in. And then there's the topiary tree.
When Ilah was a tiny baby and slept in her bassinet in our room, I kept a basket on the bottom shelf of my nightstand that held lots of essentials within my reach.
The pictures above our headboard came from Kirklands.

Back to the headboard for a second. It was never even a thought when we were our looking for our bedroom set, to get a padded headboard. But I am SO glad that we did!! Ilah is quite rambuncious and just loves playing in our bed and I can't count how many times she has accidently rammed her head into our headboard. Because it's ultra soft and padded, she doesn't feel a thing and we don't have to stress about keeping her in a certain area of the bed to avoid her hitting her head on the headboard. I tell you...it's the little things!
There's a little nook/sitting area in our room that we transformed into a desk area {table, and picture above the table, from Homegoods; chair previously owned; lamp from Kirklands; picture frame from Ross; accent piece from Hobby Lobby; pillow from Marshalls}....
Although the furniture looks black in these photos, it's a deep chocolate brown....
The top of the chester drawer lifts up so you can place jewelry, watches, etc. in it. Another cool feature.
Along one of our walls in our bedroom is a fairly large picture framed in glass. I added two candle sconces along each side of the picture to fill up the large wall space {all from Kirklands}....
Notice the book shelf in the right corner?....

We don't have an office in our house so we tried to maximize the space that we do have, the best we could. If you remember, we also have a desk downstairs near our entry way/off of our kitchen. We figured the best space for our book shelf was in our bedroom so that books could be within reach.
