Happy Friday everyone! And Happy Birthday to ME! As you can see, I was thisclose to being a 4th of July baby. Now that I'm a mom, I can imagine what it must have been like to have a 2 day old newborn home and having loud firecrackers and fireworks blaring outside. Perhaps my parents chalked it up to a huge celebration that was being had by all of America in their baby's honor ; )
Last year on my birthday Ilah was in my belly...now our sweet daughter is celebrating my birthday with me...smiling big at her momma, giving me tight face hugs and endless slobbery kisses. She's happy and healthy. There's no better gift!!

All the cake slice below needs is a candle stuck in it....oh, and to be placed right in front of me : ) It looks yummmy!!!
Go here for the recipe!
While I was browing for 4th of July treats, I came across the below "shortcake" {the person who made it also describes the star to be a bit like baklava. Oh how I loooove Baklava. And pairing it with fruit sounds yummy!}......
On Sunday we will be having a 4th of July bbq/dinner at our house and having some friends over. Lots of food - and lots of fun! I started shopping about a month ago for some pretty little touches to go "here" and "there" {I will post photos after the 4th!}.....
Ilah has a few different outfits to wear over the 4th of July weekend....
Isn't the below piece a pretty way to spruce up an entry way!? A ribbon losely draped over a metal star, on top of a lush green wreath. I absolutely love the look! I'm going to have to remember this for next year....
